Demonstrative Adjectives

Recognize and use demonstrative adjectives

Demonstrative adjectives point out specific nouns. They function as adjectives when they are with a noun, and as pronouns when they are alone.

There are only four demonstrative adjectives: this, that, these and those. Use this and that when referring to singular nouns, and these and those when referring to plurals. They may also be used to tell how near something is.
