Recognize the relationship between a cause and an effect
Some sentences describe a situation that directly leads to a result. An important component of reading comprehension skills is understanding how sentences present causes and effects. Words and phrases such as “because,” “due to” and “so,” along with more subtle language, help to identify the two parts.
