Linking Verbs

Identify and use linking verbs in sentences

Linking verbs “link” to other words which describe the state that someone or something is in. Some common linking verbs are is, was, be, seem, feel and look. Linking verbs do not show an action. If a word is telling about what is happening, then it is not a linking verb.
